Central Football Update

Central Catholic football started in the year of 1927. The team have always gone by the same slogan tradition never graduates. Some of the greatest players to ever play the game have walk through these halls some of these players include Stephen Wisniewski, ’07, Marc Bulger, ’95 and not to mention Hall of Famer Dan Marino, ’79. They expect the same outcome every year, and the expectation is to be WPIAL champions. All of the glory and wins comes from everyday hard work. What helps this team to repeat as champions is the great coaching staff they have. The team believes they have the best coach in the WPIAL’s in terry Totten, ’76.

Coach Totten has had a lot of previous success, being an strong safety for Central and IUP. At IUP he develop into an all district, all east, and all American strong safety. He has been coaching at central for nearly 20 years. He has help central catholic football rise to excellence. Due to his leadership the team has won 6 WPIAL championships, and 2 state championships.

This years season is of to a great start, the Vikings are 4-1 (3-0 in the conference). The team is lead by quarter back Troy Fisher. With the support of players such as, Defensive back David Green, Full back Liam Slattery, and Wide Receiver Khalil Weathers. With continue hard work and dedication another WPIAL championship could be on the horizon.
