Christmas… In November?!

It is mid-October which means the Masque “grind” is in full effect! The Masque is currently working on their fall production of White Christmas, rehearsing new songs and dances every day after school. The story follows song-and-dance duo Bob Wallace (Zachary Evans, ‘20) and Phil Davis (Christian Farls, ‘21) as well as Betty (Jane Fusco, OC ‘20) and Judy Hanes (Annie Mihm, OC ‘20) as they attempt to save a failing holiday resort by performing a Christmas spectacular! The cast is filled with many new faces, ready to take on the show every step of the way.

While the musical opens in early November, classic Christmas tunes such as “Happy Holidays” and “White Christmas” are sure to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Irving Berlin’s wonderful score is sure to keep the audience tapping their feet during every song. Numbers original to the musical include “I Love a Piano,” a tap extravaganza, “Love and the Weather,” Bob and Betty’s pondering on the inconsistencies of love, and more. Fans of the movie will recognize classics such as “The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing” and “Snow,” two of the many tunes kept in the musical.

The cast is excited to show off their dance moves in musical numbers such as “Blue Skies,” the incredible act one finale. “White Christmas is perfect for the upcoming winter season. We are so excited to perform this holiday classic!” said Maddie Phillips, OC ‘20, who plays Martha in the upcoming production.

Whether you’re a hall monitor or a long-time fan of The Masque, White Christmas is sure to be as professional and impressive as ever.

White Christmas will run from November 7-9 @ Central Catholic’ High School’s McGonigle Theater.
