Living a healthier lifestyle can benefit a person long term and short term. Living a healthy lifestyle long term- by eating a healthy balanced diet, exercising regularly and maintaining a good weight for your body- can add on time and years to your life while also keeping you looking young. This also can decrease the chances of getting diabetes, cancer or even osteoporosis and obesity. Short term- eating healthy , stretching, and exercising regularly- can make you feel at your best, decrease injuries like lower back pain, knee pain, and neck pain, which are common injuries in adults with poor lifestyle choices.

The American Council on Exercise reported on an eight-year study of 13,000 people. The study showed that those who walked just 30 minutes each day significantly reduced their chances of dying prematurely, compared with those who exercised infrequently. Just doing something as simple as taking a 30 minute walk cam improve life, though it doesn’t have to be 30 minutes right away.

Start with 10 minutes then to 20 minutes up to 30 minutes. Living a healthy lifestyle immediately isn’t easy so build up day by day. By doing this you also improve your mood and sleep habits. Endorphins are brain chemicals that make you feel happier and more relaxed. Eating a healthy diet as well as exercising can lead to a better physique, which will make you feel better about your appearance, which can boost your confidence and self-esteem. Short-term benefits of exercise include decreased stress and improved cognitive function.

When people lack sleep they end up being irritated and very depressed at times. When you live a balanced life,  go to sleep and wake up around the same time everyday, it improves your performance and mood throughout the day so you are not sluggish and tired.
