The Effects of Music

Music has been around for millions of years with different genres like Rap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul, R&B, Country and POP. In the new generation of rappers and singers we limited a lot of our types of music to relate more with the general public to increase sales and make fame out of a specific type of music you as an artist will make.

Some popular artist in today’s more younger generation would be like J Cole, NBA YoungBoy, Meek Mill, Summer Walker, Old Town Road, lilUzi, Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Chris Brown and Eminem. All these different artist have different flows, different backgrounds, and musical speech to tell a story.

Depending on where you were born , were raised, and history of music, typically is how you come out to the world with the type of vibe of music you have. Rappers growing up in poverty, crime, and gangs typically talk about growing up how they did and the lifestyle they had to live and becoming greater then there old ways of living.

People who typically like these type can relate in some way shape of form as a listener. As a listener it can effect you in different ways depending on what you’re going through and facing in everyday life. Depending on the type of music you listen to usually is how you perceive life, react to situations, and overall shapes your personality.

Fast Company recently release some statistics about the effect of music on your mind: (https://www.fastcompany.com/3022942/the-surprising-science-behind-what-music-does-to-our-brains):

The way you conceive and apply your music choice is typically how you live your life so choose what you listen to carefully. Sometimes you can listen to a song and think nothing of it but the more you listen to that song it can build your emotions to make you happier, lessen your intensity to make you calmer, or significantly increase your emotions to make you more angrier or more passionate about typical life things.

I strongly agree with these statistics because music helps me daily in life to uplift or pump my energy up through workouts, school, or just a very boring low energy day. I’ve found that when I listen to catchy loud songs my intensity is increased and I perfume very well in the weight room but, when I listen to slow, low base music I get tired and I’m not as energized.

Therefore, I find my research to be very valid and life changing. As a people we should really watch what we let into our minds and souls so we don’t fall into that stigma of laziness and depression. We should listen to more music that uplifts us and encourage us to do and be better. Keeping a happy vibe and a positive outlook on life.
