The 2020-21 Central Catholic Basketball season has been a crazy roller coaster, with the COVID-19 virus restraining fans to attend games and having people wear masks has been a heavy load on the players and coaches.

I interviewed the varsity head basketball coach Brian Urso on how this pandemic affected him and his players his response was “A lot.” Coach Urso also says that he once had the COVID-19 virus and it was a pleasant experience, “with new school schedules and constant school changes so it’s been a lot.”

I also asked Coach Urso how do he motivates the players before a game he replied saying, “themes and the seniors speak about how much the game means to them.”

Right now Central Catholic’s record is 12-8 and is ranked #70 in Pennsylvania high school basketball. Some players that have been standing out are this season are sophomores Dante Depante, Randy Wilkerson, and junior Jaden Bailey. To me, everyone has been doing good especially the coaching staff. Central Catholic’s 2019-2020 season record was 14-12 so they made some improvements from last year.
