Gannon Carothers

If you have ever attended a Central Catholic football game, I know the name Gannon Carothers rings a bell. Carothers was the starting running back, and chalked up 15 touchdowns, with an impressive 1600 all-purpose yards to go along with that.
Carothers is committed to Cornell, and rightfully so as he has been a key player for the Vikings since his sophomore season. Gannon also participates in track and field, running the 4×1 relay and throwing discus.
I had the opportunity to speak with Carothers about his plans after Central and his overall experience with the center of learning.
When asked about his overall experience with Central, Carothers replied, that he has had a life-changing experience at Central Catholic, especially when it came to creating new relationships and learning how to overcome adversity.
Carothers remarked that Central not only challenges you academically but athletically as well, as so many top-tier athletes gravitate towards Central.
He mentioned that his favorite memory at Central was winning the WPIAL championship game his sophomore year at Heinz Field.
Carothers plans to continue his education and athletic career at Cornell and plans on graduating from the SC Johnson School of Business.
Gannon’s words of advice to the underclassmen are to take advantage of their time at Central and create memories and relationships that will last them a lifetime.
