Central Catholic’s BSU Travels to the White House

In March, Central Catholic’s Black Student Union, led by Deacon Fekete, had an experience of a lifetime with their historic White House visit.

On March 27th Central Catholic’s BSU took an educational trip to visit the African American Museum and Arlington National Cemetery.

Central Catholic’s BSU was invited to our nation’s capital by distinguished alumni Mr. Ron Layton, ’83, Mr. Blake Covington, ’03, and Mr. Ed Robinson, ’82.

Throughout the trip, the members of the Black Student Union learned the importance of leadership and sacrifice; Mr. Layton explained the difficulty of rejection and how you can use those feelings as fuel to achieve your goals.

Central Catholic’s BSU then had dinner with Mr. Ed Robinson, ’82 where he discussed his background at Central Catholic and the struggles he faced during his lifetime.

On March 28th Central Catholic traveled to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, home of the White House! Central Catholic’s BSU was given a tour of the grounds by secret service agents. Central Catholic’s BSU was able to see different rooms in the White House, too.

Members of the Black Student Union had the opportunity of a lifetime in Washington DC and did not regret the experience!
