The annual fall carnival ran many Thursdays ago on the 17th of October. The event featured open games for students to play, a Hibachi Lou’s food truck, and tables run by different extracurriculars.
Some clubs had games like the Chess Club who played chess, and Future Business Leaders of America, who ran a blackjack table. Other clubs sold food; the Environmental Club sold cookies, the Robotics Club sold Honey Buns (you may have seen the poster suggesting you enjoy Mr. Heid’s warm buns), and the Student Council sold ice cream floats for charity. The art club even ran a prize wheel for $2 a spin with the most popular prize being a $5 gift card.
Of the handful of people I interviewed during my lunch period, each of them talked about food in some way, and multiple even had food in their hand during the interview! Two people I interviewed mentioned the Hibachi truck, and I saw many more eating it. The Hibachi truck was definitely a big hit; just look at the picture above, taken before the bell even rang to start class!
The Fall Carnival gave the school something to do; a way to have some fun. As one interviewee put it, “It’s a fun way like, to bring people together.”
