Central Catholic Golf Team is Seeking a Return to the Pennsylvania State Championship
The Central Catholic Golf Team is looking to win a WPIAL Championship and return to the State Championship at the Penn State Golf Courses, trying to recreate their historic season from 2022.
The Golf team started the season off with a 7-2 record, and a 4-1 sectional record. Brother’s Bailey and Patrick Donahue currently lead the team in lowest scoring average, and Junior Jameson Raynak not far behind.
Sophomore Bailey Donahue said, “this team has depth all around” proving that they have what it takes to go far this year.
Along with Bailey Donahue, Senior Gavin Lugaila and Senior Silvio Adams believe the team “will win at least a WPIAL Championship this year and don’t be surprised if we come home with a State Championship too.”
This season’s WPIAL Championship will be held at the Cedarbrook Gold Golf Course, a challenging layout, especially during wintry weather and tough conditions. The State Championship will be at the Penn State Golf Courses.
Everyone on the team is determined to win a State Championship just like the 2022 roster. Stay tuned and follow the Central Catholic Golf team on the WPIAL website and see if they can have another historic season added to the resume.
