Friday March 14th, Central Catholic experienced a major water leak into our building.
Starting Friday night, a toilet auto flush was stuck on causing flooding from the third-floor downstairs. Closures that we have experienced are third floor bathroom, the second floor and the third-floor bathroom. Contractors expect to finish the project by middle of august. This has led to bathroom closures for the rest of the year.
Techniques Central used to keep their students in school were opening the other first floor bathroom and bringing in a trailer.
Central Catholic’s Dean of Discipline Mr. Davis said that it was a hinderance to the faculty and students. One thing he said that stood out was he thinks it will be a benefit to our school. Mr Davis looks at it in an unusual way than many teachers and believes overall we needed this.
On the other side teacher Mr. Weyers believes that it is a horrible problem we are facing. His main point was that he cant use the bathroom as much because he is uncomfortable having to go with the kids. Now to use the bathroom he must go to the stem building which is hard to squeeze into his schedule.
Answers between the students and the faculty have a lot to do with each other. Senior student Ramsey Adebajo also believes that it is an inconvenience. One main point he had was it is harder to get to class because we must go up or down to use the bathroom.
